M.E. Schuman’s Author Story
Driven by the desire to share the truth—about the environment and her life, her trials and triumphs—M.E. Schuman wrote and published The Understory: A Female Environmentalist in the Land of the Midnight Sun. The memoir tells the story of a bright young woman passionate about the environment and improving the habitat and conditions for the native species of North America. Despite the obstacles created by human predators and unsupportive family members, Schuman fulfilled her dream of attending college and becoming an ecologist. Now she’s sharing her story with the world in the hopes that she can not only prove her right to be treated equally as a female scientist but also unveil the harsh truth of ageism and sexism in the workplace, especially in the federal government. . . .

Copyediting
Copyediting is one of the most important parts of the publishing process, as it is a large factor in bringing your book up to professional publishing standards. Errors in the manuscript reflect poorly on the author and hinder the reading experience. It’s important to have a second set of eyes comb through your manuscript, but you can’t rely on just anyone to do so.
Our editors are experts in their field. They have the experience and skillset necessary to help make your work the best it can be. They’ll correct problems in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, logical flow, consistency, redundancy, and factual content. If you have questions or concerns at any point in the process, we’ll be there to address them.
